Overview¶
Two variants of the same trip, worked out together — same fixed bookends (Alessio's wingfoil days 26–28 Aug, Elisabeth arriving 28 Aug, both flying from ZAZ on 6/8 Sep), same broad east-to- west sweep. What differs is what sits at either end of the touring week: a Núria start-and-cirque day, or an Ordesa-Valley dedicated day. Only one route can happen — pick before the first night gets booked.
- Proposed plan 01 — Vall de Núria (current working plan, since 26 Aug 2026) — starts the touring days with a rack-railway trip up to Vall de Núria in the far east of the range. Ordesa is dropped. From Samitier the route takes the southern road (Aínsa → Barbastro → Montearagón). Two nights parked at Congost de Mont-Rebei; a Sat 5 Sep buffer. ~962 km / ~16h42 driving across Sat 29 – Sat 5.
- Proposed plan 02 — With Ordesa (previous plan, kept as the alternative) — no Núria. Ordesa is in with a dedicated hiking day, reached by the mandatory Torla shuttle bus. From Samitier the route climbs north through Torla. Congost de Mont-Rebei is a shorter, in-transit gorge walk on a single moving day. ~787 km / ~13h08 driving across Sat 29 – Sat 5.
The trade-off is real, not just aesthetic — see the head-to-head on 01 vs 02, which lays out the two valleys side by side (hikes on offer, how you actually get in, day-shape), plus what each plan gives up. The Relaxed route reasoning walks through why the Núria variant replaced the Ordesa one on 26 Aug 2026 in the first place — useful to re-read before flipping back.
