Senders de la Ribera de Sant Martí → Estany Gran del Pessó

A circuit near Taüll (Vall de Boí) following the Riu de Sant Martí up to a pair of glacial lakes.

Route: starts at Pont de la Ribera / Pont de Sant Martí (~1,700 m), follows the marked path (coincides with GR-11) to the ruined shepherd's hut Boïga de Sala, then a steeper, cairn-marked final stretch up the Pessó ravine to Estany del Pessó d'Avall (lower lake, ~2,430 m) and ~30 min further to Estany Gran del Pessó / d'Amont (upper lake, ~2,490–2,500 m).

Distance/duration (two independent sources agree closely):

• MITECO (official park authority): ~3 hours up, +800 m elevation gain, moderate difficulty, recommended June–October.
• Rutaspirineos.org: 9.2 km total, ~6 hours round trip (3h up / 3h down), +800/−800 m, rated "notable."

The Wikiloc and vallboi.cat route pages blocked automated verification (403) — open them manually before relying on their specific text.

Time on site: the hike itself is a half-day to full-day outing (3–6 hours depending on pace and which source's estimate you use).
